Grateful for a week’s worth of work and play in London, apart and together with Suzanne Merritt from the USA.
We ended our last workshop “Magic in Photography: 8 doorways to beauty” with hearts filled and heads spinning.
We profoundly wish to continue working together, sharing and multiplying beauty and magic in photography with Curious Souls all over the world.
I’ve got tickets to a concert by singer/songwriter Martyn Joseph at the last night of our stay. He’s unknown to us, but has been wholeheartedly recommended. We’re tired at this night of the concert and don’t feel like traveling through a shady neighborhood in the dark. We head out anyway, feeling we can leave early if tiredness gets the best of us.
It doesn’t take Martyn Joseph long to get our complete attention. We are riveted by his presence and his songs. Both have the rythm of authentic and sincere social engagement. He seems to be on the road we’re traveling. At the end of a wonderful evening he plays the last song especially for us. As an encouragement to live our heartfelt mission. At least it feels that way…
Here it is for you to hear now, the beautiful song Martyn’s been singing for us ever since that special night:
I want to kiss the world fine
Shoulder to shoulder, cheek to cheek
That don’t sound much like a crime
I want to kiss the world beautiful
I have no name for this desire
I believe in light, but don’t know what to write
With the darkness drawing near
I want to kiss the world beautiful
Lay down this life I think I would
Give up my shoes and some of these views
Don’t know why just think I should
I want to kiss the world beautiful
Under the weight of all this earth
Sometimes it takes someone else’s life
To make us see what we are worth
Dream but never fall asleep
Go up to God and say, do you have plans today?
Are you walking down my street?
I want to kiss the world beautiful
And not forget from where we came
There are losers and winners, saints and sinners
I hope we all end up the same
I want to kiss the world beautiful
I want to kiss your lips tonight
Sometimes it’s just more important to love
Than to always have it right
